The origin

Moolah did not start with marketing theory. It started in restaurants.

Moolah grew out of direct experience inside hospitality and restaurant operations, not out of a general marketing background looking for an industry to apply itself to.

That matters because restaurants do not care about SEO for its own sake. They care about covers, bookings, private dining, repeat guests, quiet service periods, the venue two streets away and whether marketing spend is producing anything commercially real.

Visibility is only useful when it turns into a booked table.

Everything Moolah does is built backwards from that: understand how the restaurant makes money, then work on the search visibility that supports it.

Two sides of one problem

Hospitality experience on one side. Search expertise on the other.

That combination shapes how Moolah approaches restaurant marketing: search performance is judged against what matters to the operation, not simply what looks impressive in an SEO report.

Restaurant operations

What makes a restaurant work commercially.

Covers, service periods, demand patterns, average spend, capacity, occasions and the difference between a busy room and a profitable one.

Search visibility

How potential guests discover restaurants online.

Google Search, Google Maps, the Business Profile, reviews, restaurant platforms and the website — the path a guest actually travels before booking.

Context

Why restaurant experience changes the work.

Demand is not one thing. Generating more of it is only useful when it lines up with what the restaurant actually needs filled.

Lunch versus dinner demand

The same restaurant competes for two very different audiences at two different times of day.

Weekdays versus weekends

Filling a Tuesday is a different commercial problem to protecting a Saturday.

Private dining and groups

Higher-value bookings usually come from searches that look nothing like a table for two.

Seasonal menus and Christmas

Demand for some occasions is decided weeks before the occasion arrives.

Nearby competition

Local search is relative. Visibility is won or lost against the venues within reach.

Booking channels

Direct, platform, phone and walk-in do not behave the same way, and should not be measured the same way.

Opening hours and capacity

Demand that arrives when the kitchen cannot serve it is not a commercial win.

Reviews and reputation

Review patterns influence both where a restaurant ranks and whether a guest chooses it.

More demand is not automatically better demand. It has to arrive where the restaurant has room to grow.

What Moolah stands on

Four commitments the work is held to.

01

Restaurant specialisation

Built around how people actually discover and choose restaurants — search, maps, profiles, reviews and booking platforms.

02

Commercial measurement

Search visibility is evaluated alongside bookings, covers and the restaurant-performance data available.

03

Transparent reporting

Clients should understand what changed, what was done and what happens next — in plain language.

04

Hands-on strategy

The strategy, analysis and optimisation stay close to the person accountable for the account.

Human accountability

You know who is working on your restaurant.

Moolah is deliberately hands-on. Strategy, analysis and optimisation stay close to the person accountable for the result, so context is never lost in a handover.

You will not be introduced to one person, managed by another and worked on by someone you never meet. The person who reviews your visibility is the person who explains what changed.

How the work stays close

  • The audit is reviewed by hand, not generated by a tool
  • Priorities are set against your commercial goals, not a template
  • The same person handles analysis, optimisation and reporting
  • Questions get a direct answer, not a ticket

Focus

Specialist by design.

The focus is narrow for a reason: restaurants, local discovery and measurable search growth.

Moolah is not trying to become a general agency serving every sector. Depth in one industry means the patterns are already familiar — the search behaviour, the seasonal swings, the platforms guests use and the commercial questions an operator will ask before spending anything.

Hospitality experience

Operational restaurant experience — service periods, covers, demand patterns and how commercial pressure actually lands in a venue.

Restaurant search

Local SEO, Google Maps and discovery strategy for venues competing in the same few streets.

Analytics

GA4, Search Console, Google Business Profile performance and booking data where the restaurant can share it.

Technical SEO

Site structure, structured data, local relevance, crawlability and authority development.

Areas of practical experience. Not presented as formal certifications.

Established venues, described by market position.

Client restaurants work with Moolah under confidentiality, so they are described by market position rather than by name. Every figure published on this site comes from the venue's own third-party platform data.

The working relationship

What working with Moolah feels like.

Clear priorities

Work focuses on the opportunities that carry the most commercial weight, not on the longest possible task list.

Direct communication

Plain explanations of what is happening and why. No jargon used to make routine work sound complex.

Evidence over activity

Reporting explains outcomes and movement, rather than listing everything that was completed.

Continuous improvement

Search growth is treated as an ongoing competitive process, because competitors keep moving too.

No SEO theatre.

Moolah does not guarantee #1 rankings, manufacture attribution or hide behind long reports filled with activity. The objective is sustained restaurant discovery and measurable improvement.

Figures measured directly are labelled separately from figures correlated with the work. Where something cannot be proven, it is described as context rather than causation.
